For the Wicked 21st game design project, I had the pleasure of reading Clark C. Abt's 1970 book "Serious Games". While the book is considered now of historical and scholarly interest according to the reviews, many of the games described in the book could of plenty of use in our century.
For example, it describes a game where photos of weather radar are shown to players and they have to guess whether it is raining or not. Similar ideas about guessing cities from Google Street View has been very popular of late.
And while the book was published half a century ago, it is available in public libraries.
